Possible Causes
Seized Pump 1 motor on Coast Spas jet pump, Shorted pump windings, Blocked impeller causing overload, Failed pump relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching the pump or wiring.
- Check for mechanical binding: Try to rotate the pump shaft manually (from the rear fan or shaft end) with power off. If it will not turn, the pump is seized and must be replaced.
- Inspect for leaks: Look for water leaks onto the pump motor that may have caused corrosion.
- Test pump electrically: A qualified person can measure pump winding resistance and insulation to ground. Replace the pump if readings are out of spec.
- Control board check: If the pump tests good but P1 persists, the pump relay or control board may be faulty.
