Possible Causes
Air trapped in Coast Spas jet pump after refill, Closed slice valves on pump suction or discharge, Blocked suction fitting or skimmer, Pump impeller not turning due to debris or seized bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before loosening any unions.
- Open all valves: Confirm that all slice valves around the jet pumps are fully open.
- Loosen pump unions: Slightly loosen the union on the suction side of the affected pump until air escapes and water appears, then retighten. Repeat on the discharge side if needed.
- Cycle pump: Restore power and run the pump on low and high speed. If it hums but does not move water, the impeller may be jammed.
- Clear obstructions: With power off, remove the pump wet end cover and inspect the impeller for debris. Clean and reassemble.
- Repeat priming: Start the spa and follow the Coast Spas priming instructions on the topside until strong flow is restored.
