Possible Causes
Failed start capacitor on Coast Spas jet pump motor, Seized pump shaft, Low supply voltage to pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching the pump or capacitor.
- Spin test: With power off, try to rotate the pump shaft by hand. If it spins freely, the capacitor is a likely culprit.
- Inspect capacitor: Locate the capacitor housing on the motor. Look for bulging or leaking.
- Replace capacitor: Install a new capacitor with the same microfarad (µF) rating and voltage. Discharge the old capacitor safely before removal.
- Retest pump: Restore power and verify that the pump starts promptly without humming.
