Possible Causes
Worn mechanical shaft seal on Coast Spas pump, Loose pump union fittings, Cracked pump wet end housing, Damaged O-rings at unions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close slice valves (if present) before loosening any plumbing.
- Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water first appears—at the shaft, unions, or housing.
- Tighten unions: Hand-tighten pump unions; do not overtighten with tools as this can crack fittings.
- Replace O-rings: If unions still leak, replace the O-rings with new ones of the correct size.
- Seal replacement: If water leaks from the shaft area between motor and wet end, replace the mechanical seal or the entire wet end assembly.
