Display is blank or shows only dashes, spa not responding

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before disconnecting or connecting any control cables.

Steps:

• Inspect topside cable: Remove the equipment access panel and locate the ribbon cable from the topside control to the control pack. Ensure it is fully seated and not corroded.
• Check for damage: Look along the cable for cuts, pinch points, or rodent damage. Replace the cable if damaged.
• Inspect keypad for moisture: Check the topside panel surface for condensation under the overlay or signs of water ingress. If present, the panel is likely damaged.
• Test with replacement panel (if available): If you have access to a known-good compatible topside, plug it into the control pack to see if the display returns to normal.
• Replace faulty component: Replace the topside control panel if it is the source of the problem. If a good panel still shows dashes or blank, the control board may need replacement by a spa technician.
