Possible Causes
Recent power outage or brownout, Loose connections at GFCI breaker or spa terminal block, Undersized wiring causing voltage drop, Failing control pack power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the main breaker before tightening any electrical connections. If you are not comfortable working with electricity, contact a licensed electrician.
Steps:
- Confirm stable power: Check if other appliances in the home experienced outages or flickering. If so, PF may be normal and will clear after power stabilizes.
- Inspect GFCI and wiring: With power OFF, remove the GFCI breaker cover and spa equipment bay cover. Check that all lugs and terminal screws are tight and that there are no signs of overheating or burnt insulation.
- Measure voltage (qualified persons only): Verify that line voltage at the spa control pack is within the specified range (typically 240V ±10% for 240V models or 120V for plug-and-play models).
- Reset spa: Turn the breaker OFF for 2–3 minutes, then ON. If PF does not return, monitor operation.
- If PF persists: The control pack’s internal power supply may be failing. Have a spa technician test and replace the control pack if necessary.
