Possible Causes
Tripped GFCI or internal fuse, Failed jet pump motor, Stuck pump impeller due to debris, Faulty pump relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before touching the pump or wiring.
Steps:
- Check GFCI: Verify that the spa’s GFCI outlet or breaker is not tripped. Reset if necessary.
- Listen for pump: With power ON and JETS button pressed, listen for humming. A humming pump that does not turn may have a stuck impeller or failed capacitor.
- Inspect pump area: Remove the equipment panel and check for leaks or signs of overheating around the Dream Maker jet pump.
- Check fuses: Some control packs have internal fuses for pump circuits. With power OFF, inspect and replace blown fuses with identical ratings.
- Free impeller (if accessible): With power OFF and water drained below pump level, remove the pump wet end or front cover and check for debris blocking the impeller. Clean and reassemble.
- Replace pump: If the motor is seized or windings are open, replace the jet pump with a compatible Dream Maker pump (matching voltage, HP, and frame size).
- Control board: If the pump tests good but never receives power, the pump relay on the control board may be faulty and the control pack may need replacement.
