Possible Causes
Aged o-rings and seals, Valve left partially open or closed, Debris in valve body, Cracked valve housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and, if necessary, drain water below valve level before disassembly.
Service valves:
- Exercise valve: Move the valve handle fully up and down several times to dislodge minor debris.
- Inspect for leaks: Look for water seeping around the stem or body. Tighten any accessible screws.
- Rebuild or replace: Many slice valves can be rebuilt with new seals and o-rings. If the body is cracked or heavily leaking, replace the entire valve with a Dream Maker-compatible slice valve.
- Leave valves fully open: During normal operation, keep slice valves fully open to reduce wear and flow restriction.
