Possible Causes
Air lock in heater plumbing, Dirty filter causing low flow, Failing circulation pump, High-limit sensor out of calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the equipment bay.
- Bleed air from heater: If the spa was recently refilled, loosen the unions on the heater tube slightly to release trapped air until water flows steadily, then retighten.
- Clean filter: Remove and rinse the Dynasty Spas filter cartridge thoroughly. Reinstall or test briefly without the filter to see if HL clears.
- Check circulation: Restore power and verify that water is moving strongly through the heater return. If flow is weak, inspect the circulation pump for noise, overheating, or failure to start.
- Sensor replacement: If HL appears frequently even with good flow and clean filters, the high-limit sensor may be overly sensitive. Replace the high-limit sensor on the heater tube with a compatible Dynasty Spas sensor.
