Possible Causes
Dirty or clogged filter cartridge, Air lock in plumbing after refill, Failed or stuck flow/pressure switch, Weak or failed circulation pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the spa disconnect or main breaker before opening any panels or touching internal components.
- Check water level: Ensure the water level is above all skimmer openings and at least halfway up the filter housing. Low water can trigger FLO.
- Clean the filter: Remove the Everlast Spas filter cartridge from the skimmer or filter canister. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose from top to bottom. If heavily soiled or older than 1 year, replace with a compatible Everlast Spas filter cartridge.
- Bypass filter test: With power OFF, remove the filter and restore power briefly. If FLO clears and the spa begins to heat, the filter is restricted and should be replaced.
- Bleed air from lines: After a refill, loosen the union on the circulation pump (Everlast Spas circulation pump) slightly to allow trapped air to escape until water seeps out, then retighten. Restore power and check if FLO clears.
- Inspect flow switch: Locate the flow or pressure switch on the heater plumbing. Check that the wires are firmly connected and that there are no kinks in the vinyl tubing (if pressure-style). If FLO persists after filter cleaning and bleeding air, the flow switch may be stuck or failed and should be tested with a multimeter and replaced if defective.
- Check circulation pump operation: With the cabinet panel removed and power ON, verify that the Everlast Spas circulation pump runs smoothly and does not hum or overheat. If the pump is not running or is very weak, replacement of the circulation pump is likely required.
