Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Ambient temperature sensor reading low, Spa left uncovered in freezing weather
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa during freezing conditions unless the spa is fully winterized.
- Verify operation: ICE mode is a protective feature. Confirm that the Everlast circulation pump and jet pumps are running periodically to move water through the plumbing.
- Install cover: Ensure the Everlast spa cover is installed and latched to minimize heat loss.
- Add heat source if needed: In extreme cold, consider temporary windbreaks or a thermal blanket on the water surface to assist the heater.
- Sensor check: If ICE appears in warm conditions, the temperature sensor may be misreading and should be tested and replaced if out of range.
