Possible Causes
Ambient temperature very low, Spa recently refilled with cold water, Temperature sensor reading out of range, Heater not energizing due to relay or power issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the spa is filled to the proper level before running pumps to avoid air ingestion.
- Verify set temperature: Confirm the set temperature on the Evolution Spas control panel is above the current water temperature.
- Allow time to heat: After a refill with cold water, it can take many hours to reach set temperature. Leave the cover on to retain heat.
- Check for heating: With pumps running, feel the heater return jet. It should gradually become warmer. If there is no temperature increase after several hours, the heater may not be energizing.
- Inspect filters and flow: Ensure filters are clean and water flow is strong; poor flow can prevent heating even without a FLO code.
If COL persists and the spa never warms, the heater or control board may require service. Contact a qualified technician for electrical testing.
