Possible Causes
Dirty or clogged filter cartridge, Air lock in plumbing, Partially closed slice valves, Debris in pump impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before removing filters or opening pump unions.
- Clean filter: Remove and thoroughly rinse the filter cartridge. Replace if it appears collapsed or heavily stained.
- Check valves: Ensure all slice or ball valves in the equipment bay are fully open.
- Bleed air: Loosen the pump union slightly to release trapped air until water flows, then retighten.
- Inspect pump impeller: If flow is still weak, remove the pump wet end cover (with power OFF and spa drained below pump level) and check for debris in the impeller.
If jet flow remains poor after these steps, the pump may be worn and require replacement.
