Possible Causes

Failed heater element, Stuck-open heater relay, Misconfigured heating mode (Economy/Sleep), Weak circulation causing heater to cycle off on limit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before accessing the heater or control pack.

  • Confirm mode and setpoint: Ensure the spa is in Standard mode and the set temperature is above current water temperature.
  • Check for warm return: With pumps running, feel the heater return jet. If it never warms after 30–60 minutes, the heater may not be energizing.
  • Inspect heater and wiring: Look for burn marks or loose connections at the heater terminals.
  • Clean filters and verify flow: Poor flow can cause the heater to shut off on high-limit without showing a code.

Electrical testing of the heater and control board should be done by a spa technician. Replace the heater assembly if the element is open or shorted.
