Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before loosening any unions or fittings.
- 1. Verify water level: Ensure the spa is filled to the proper level. Top off if needed.
- 2. Reset power: Turn power off for 30 seconds, then back on to clear the error. Observe if the circulation pump starts and water moves.
- 3. Bleed air from heater: With power off, slightly loosen the union on the heater inlet until water flows steadily, then retighten. This removes trapped air that can cause a dry condition.
- 4. Check for flow: Restore power and confirm there is a visible stream of water from the circulation return in the spa. If not, the pump may be air-locked or failed.
- 5. Inspect flow switch wiring: With power off, check that the flow switch wires are firmly connected to the control board and not damaged.
If the dr error returns repeatedly, the heater should not be forced to run. Continued operation can damage the heater tube. Have a technician test the flow switch and circulation pump.
