Possible Causes
Tripped pump thermal overload, Seized pump motor, Blocked impeller, Failed pump relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI before touching the pump or wiring.
- 1. Check for air lock: After a refill, pumps can air lock. With power off, loosen the pump union slightly until water flows, then retighten.
- 2. Inspect for obstructions: Remove suction covers inside the spa and check for debris that could block flow to the pump.
- 3. Test pump manually: Restore power and press the jets button. Listen for humming. A hum without rotation suggests a seized motor or failed capacitor.
- 4. Allow cool-down: If the pump was running for a long time, its thermal overload may have tripped. Let it cool for 30–60 minutes with power off, then retry.
If the pump still will not run, the motor or control board relay may need replacement. This is typically a technician-level repair.
