Possible Causes
Failed heater element, Stuck-open high-limit, Misconfigured control mode (economy/sleep), Circulation pump not running during heat call
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the equipment bay.
- 1. Verify settings: Confirm the set temperature is higher than current water temperature and that the spa is in standard mode, not economy or sleep.
- 2. Check for heat indicator: When heating is requested, look for a heater icon on the panel or LED on the control board.
- 3. Confirm circulation: Ensure the circulation pump is running when the heater should be on. No flow will prevent heating.
- 4. Feel heater tube: After 10–15 minutes of supposed heating, carefully feel the outside of the heater tube. It should be warm but not scalding. If stone cold, the heater is likely not energizing.
Heater and high-voltage testing should be done by a spa technician. Replacement of the heater assembly is common for this symptom.
