Possible Causes

High sanitizer level, Low pH or high acidity, Biofilm buildup in plumbing, Use of incompatible chemicals with Freeflow shell and components

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Avoid soaking until water chemistry is corrected.

  • 1. Test water: Use a reliable test strip or kit to check free chlorine/bromine, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness.
  • 2. Adjust sanitizer: If sanitizer is high, remove the cover and run jets to allow levels to drop naturally, or partially drain and refill.
  • 3. Balance pH: Adjust pH into the 7.2–7.8 range using pH increaser or decreaser as needed.
  • 4. Flush plumbing (if recurring): Use a spa system flush product before the next drain/refill to remove biofilm from Freeflow plumbing.

Persistent odor despite proper chemistry may indicate hidden contamination; consider a full drain, line flush, and refill.
