Possible Causes

Air lock in plumbing, Closed valves, Severely clogged filter, Non-functioning circulation pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Shock hazard: Turn off power at the breaker before loosening any plumbing connections.

  • Verify water level: Ensure water is at the proper level above all jets and skimmer.
  • Open valves: Confirm all Hanscraft slice valves around the pump and heater are fully open.
  • Bleed air: Loosen pump and heater unions to release trapped air until water flows, then retighten.
  • Clean or remove filter: Remove the filter cartridge and run the spa briefly. If dr clears, replace or thoroughly clean the filter.

Do not continue to run the spa with a dr error; repeated dry-fire can damage the heater. If the issue persists, have the circulation system inspected.
