How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before opening the control pack.
- Power cycle the spa: Turn off the breaker for at least 2 minutes, then turn it back on to reset the control logic. Observe if F5 returns.
- Check keypad cable: Remove the equipment panel and locate the flat ribbon cable from the topside control to the Hanscraft control board. Unplug and replug the connector to clean contacts. Inspect for kinks, cuts, or moisture.
- Inspect control board: Look for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burned components on the PCB. Dry any condensation with a clean cloth and allow the area to air dry fully before restoring power.
- Surge protection: If F5 occurred after a storm or power surge, consider installing a spa-rated surge protector to prevent future damage.
Persistent F5 errors usually indicate a failing control board or keypad that should be diagnosed and replaced by a Hanscraft service technician.
