Possible Causes
Shorted flow switch, Flow switch installed backwards, Wiring short across flow switch terminals, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing the flow switch.
- Check installation direction: Verify the arrow on the flow switch body matches the direction of water flow.
- Test continuity: With power OFF and wires disconnected, use a multimeter to check that the switch is open (no continuity) when there is no flow. If it reads closed, the switch is faulty.
- Inspect wiring: Look for pinched or shorted wires between the flow switch and control board.
Replace the flow switch if it tests closed with no flow. If a new switch does not resolve FL2, the control board may be at fault.
