Possible Causes
Overloaded pump 1 motor, Debris in pump wet end, Low line voltage to pump, Failing pump capacitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: High voltage and moving parts. Turn off power at the breaker before touching the pump.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the filter and inspect the suction area for debris that could restrict flow to Pump 1. Clear any obstructions.
- Inspect pump wet end: With power OFF, remove the pump union and check the impeller area for stones, plastic, or other debris. Remove carefully and reassemble.
- Allow motor to cool: If the pump housing is very hot, let it cool for 30–60 minutes before retrying.
- Listen for startup: Restore power and start Pump 1. If it only hums, the start capacitor or motor windings may be failing and the pump assembly should be replaced.
Persistent P1 errors usually indicate a mechanical or electrical failure of Pump 1 that requires replacement.
