Possible Causes
Failed primary thermistor, Broken sensor wiring, Loose connector on control board, Water intrusion into sensor housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before handling sensors.
- Inspect sensor cable: Follow the Sn1 sensor cable from the heater or plumbing to the control board. Look for cuts, abrasions, or pinch points.
- Reseat connector: Unplug the sensor from the control board and plug it back in firmly to ensure good contact.
- Check resistance: With the sensor disconnected and using a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads. Compare to Hanscraft’s temperature/resistance chart. Infinite or zero ohms indicates a bad sensor.
Replace the Sn1 temperature sensor with a Hanscraft-approved part if it tests faulty.
