Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Temperature sensor detecting low temp, Spa installed in cold climate without continuous heating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power in freezing conditions; this mode protects plumbing from freeze damage.
- Keep cover on: Ensure the spa cover is closed and in good condition to retain heat.
- Verify heater operation: Confirm the heater is enabled and that the spa is set to a normal operating temperature (e.g., 100°F).
- Check water level: Low water can reduce heat transfer and trigger ICE. Top off as needed.
- Monitor until cleared: ICE will clear automatically once water temperature rises above the freeze threshold.
If ICE appears in mild weather, the temperature sensor may be faulty and should be tested or replaced.
