Possible Causes

Failed No-Fault heater element, Stuck-open heater relay on IQ board, Faulty temperature sensor reading satisfied, Tripped high-limit or thermal cutout

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before testing or replacing heater components.

  • Confirm demand for heat: Set the temperature several degrees above current water temperature and ensure the control panel indicates heating.
  • Check circulation: Verify that the SilentFlo circulation pump is running and that there is flow through the heater return.
  • Inspect heater connections: Open the equipment bay and check the No-Fault heater terminals for burned wires or loose connections.
  • Test heater resistance (advanced): With power OFF and wires removed from the heater, measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.

If the heater tests good, the issue may be with the control board relays or sensors and should be diagnosed by a technician.
