ICE
Hydropool
Freeze Protection Mode Active
Display shows ICE or IC; pumps may run automatically even when spa is not in use.

Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing detected by sensor, Faulty temperature sensor reading too low, Control logic entering freeze mode due to ambient conditions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not disable freeze protection in cold climates; it prevents plumbing damage.
- Verify actual water temperature: Use a separate thermometer to confirm the spa water temperature. If it is near freezing, allow the spa to run; this is normal behavior.
- Check cover and insulation: Ensure the Hydropool cover is properly sealed and in good condition to reduce heat loss. Inspect cabinet panels for gaps.
- Sensor sanity check: If the water is warm but ICE is displayed, the temperature sensor may be reading incorrectly. Follow the sensor inspection steps (see Sn1/Sn2) and reseat the connector.
- Power reset: Turn the spa OFF and back ON to clear any temporary logic error. If ICE returns with warm water, the sensor or control board may be faulty.
- Call a technician in case of false freeze: Persistent false freeze protection can overrun pumps and increase energy use; have a Hydropool technician test the sensor and control pack.
