Possible Causes
Failed Pump 1 motor, Tripped thermal overload in Pump 1, Loose pump wiring at control pack, Defective Pump 1 relay on Hydropool control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before touching pump wiring or terminals.
- Check for jams: With power OFF, access Pump 1 and try to rotate the motor shaft or impeller by hand (through the rear fan opening if accessible). It should turn freely. Debris or seized bearings can prevent startup.
- Inspect wiring: Confirm that Pump 1's cord or hardwiring is secure at the control pack and that there are no burned connectors.
- Thermal overload: If the pump was running hot, allow it to cool for 30–60 minutes and try again. Internal overloads may reset when cool.
- Swap test (advanced): If connectors are identical, a technician can temporarily swap Pump 1 and Pump 2 outputs at the board to see if the problem follows the pump or stays with the circuit.
- Replace faulty component: A seized pump requires replacement of the Hydropool jet pump assembly. If the pump is good but the board output is dead, the control board or relay must be replaced.
