Possible Causes
Locked rotor due to debris or corrosion, Failed start capacitor on Hydropool jet pump, Low supply voltage, Worn motor bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before attempting to move the motor shaft or open the pump.
- Check for air lock: Bleed air from the pump unions to ensure the pump is not simply air-locked.
- Spin test: With power OFF, try to rotate the motor shaft via the rear cooling fan. If it is stiff or stuck, the motor may be seized.
- Capacitor inspection (advanced): Remove the motor end cover and inspect the start capacitor for bulging or leakage. Replace with an identical-rated capacitor if defective.
- Motor replacement: If the motor remains seized or noisy after capacitor replacement, replace the Hydropool pump motor or complete pump assembly.
