Possible Causes
Water temperature too low or too high, Spa used in ambient temperatures below manufacturer spec, Faulty temperature sensor reading incorrect values, Heater relay stuck on causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa and do not enter the water until you confirm the actual water temperature is safe.
- 1. Measure actual water temperature:
- Use an independent pool/spa thermometer to check the water.
- If water is above safe soaking temperature (around 40°C / 104°F), allow it to cool with the cover off.
- 2. Check ambient conditions:
- Ensure the spa is not being operated below the minimum ambient temperature specified by Intex (often around 4°C / 39°F).
- If too cold, turn off and allow conditions to improve before use.
- 3. Reset the spa:
- After water returns to a normal range, unplug the spa for 10 minutes.
- Reconnect, reset the RCD/GFCI, and restart heating.
- If E94 reappears quickly: The temperature sensor or heater control circuit may be faulty. Continued use could be unsafe; contact Intex or a spa technician for sensor or heater pump unit replacement.
