Water has strong chemical or musty odor

Safety first: Avoid soaking in water with strong unpleasant odors.

• 1. Test and adjust sanitizer:
  • Use test strips to check chlorine/bromine levels.
  • Raise to recommended range using appropriate chemicals.
• 2. Shock the spa:
  • Apply a spa shock treatment per label directions.
• 3. Clean/replace filter:
  • Rinse or replace the Intex filter cartridge.
• 4. Circulate:
  • Run filtration continuously for several hours after treatment.
• If odor remains: Drain, clean all surfaces and the cover with spa-safe cleaner, replace filter, and refill.
