Possible Causes
Flow switch contacts welded closed, Shorted flow switch wiring harness, Control board input fault, Incorrect plumbing flow causing constant switch closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before inspection.
- Visual inspection: Locate the flow switch on the heater manifold. Check for cracked housing, corrosion on terminals, or damaged cable insulation.
- Check for debris: Remove the flow switch (after draining or clamping hoses) and inspect the paddle/ball for scale or debris that could hold it in the closed position. Clean gently and reinstall with new Teflon tape on threads if applicable.
- Wire check: Ensure the flow switch connector is fully seated on the Jacuzzi control board and that no pins are bent or corroded.
- Reset power: Restore power and see if the error clears. If FL2 returns immediately even with pump off, the switch or board is likely faulty.
Do not operate the spa with the flow switch bypassed; this is a critical safety device. Replace the flow switch or have a technician test the circuit on the control board.
