Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Ambient temperature sensor detecting low temperature, Faulty temperature sensor reading too low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not shut off power to the spa during freezing weather; this mode protects plumbing from damage.
- Confirm weather conditions: If it is near or below freezing, this is normal operation. Leave the spa powered and covered.
- Check temperature reading: If ICE appears in warm weather, compare the displayed temperature to an external thermometer. A large discrepancy suggests a bad sensor.
- Inspect sensors and wiring: With power off, check the temperature sensor and any ambient sensor wiring for damage. Replace the faulty sensor if needed.
