Possible Causes

Recent power outage or brownout, Loose main power connections in spa pack, Undersized or long wiring run causing voltage drop, Failing contactor or relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Only work inside the control pack if you are qualified. Always turn off power at the main breaker and verify with a meter.

  • Reset power: Turn the spa breaker off for 1 minute, then back on. Many PF codes clear after a clean restart.
  • Check supply voltage: Have a qualified person measure voltage at the spa terminals. It should match the nameplate (typically 240V ±10%).
  • Inspect main lugs: With power off, tighten the main power lugs in the control pack and at the disconnect. Loose connections can cause low voltage.
  • Monitor for recurrence: If PF returns frequently, consult an electrician to check the circuit and a spa technician to inspect the control board.
