Possible Causes

Pressure switch stuck closed, Shorted pressure switch wiring, Incorrectly adjusted pressure switch, Control board input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker.

  • Inspect switch and wiring: Locate the pressure switch and verify that its wires are not shorted together or pinched.
  • Test switch operation: With no pump running, the switch should be open. Use a multimeter to confirm. If it shows continuity with no flow, it is stuck closed.
  • Replace faulty switch: Remove and replace the pressure switch with a compatible part. Do not attempt to force it open mechanically.
  • Check control board: If a new switch behaves the same, the control board may be falsely reading the input and should be tested by a technician.
