Possible Causes
Failed temperature sensor probe, Corroded or loose sensor connector at control board, Damaged sensor cable from rodent or abrasion, Sensor out of calibration due to age
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the control box or sensors.
- Inspect sensor cable: Locate the temperature sensor cable running from the heater tube to the control board. Check for cuts, chew marks, or pinched sections.
- Check connector: Open the control box cover and find the sensor plug labeled TEMP or SENSOR. Unplug and replug it several times to clean the contacts. Ensure it is fully seated.
- Compare displayed temperature: Restore power and compare the spa's displayed temperature to an accurate thermometer in the water. A large difference indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace sensor if needed: If Sn1 persists, replace the temperature sensor with a compatible LA Spas sensor. Power off, remove the old sensor from the heater tube or well, install the new one with any required O‑ring, and reconnect to the board.
