Possible Causes
Failed high limit sensor, Loose or corroded high limit connector, Damaged sensor wiring, Control board sensor input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before working on sensors or the control pack.
- Locate high limit sensor: It is typically mounted on or in the heater tube near the main temperature sensor. Follow the cable back to the control board.
- Inspect wiring and connector: Check for damage along the cable. Unplug the high limit connector from the board, inspect for corrosion, and reconnect firmly.
- Reset and test: Restore power and see if Sn2 clears. If the error returns immediately, the sensor is likely defective.
- Replace high limit sensor: With power off, remove the sensor from the heater tube, install the new sensor with proper sealing, and reconnect to the board.
If a new sensor does not clear Sn2, the control board's sensor circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
