Possible Causes
Failed heater relay or triac on control PCB, Open-circuit heater element, Shorted heater element causing overcurrent, Burned wiring or connector in heater circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa and do not attempt to open the sealed control box unless you are qualified. There is a risk of electric shock.
- 1. Visual inspection: With power disconnected, inspect the exterior of the pump/heater unit for burn marks, melted plastic, or a burnt smell near the heater area.
- 2. Check for tripped RCD or breaker: If the RCD plug or house breaker trips when you try to heat, the heater element may be shorted.
- 3. Try filter-only mode: Run only the filter function. If this works without error but E06 appears when enabling heat, the fault is isolated to the heater circuit.
- 4. Do not bypass safety devices: Never attempt to bypass relays, fuses, or thermal cut-outs to force the heater to run.
- Next steps: Diagnosis of heater resistance and relay operation requires opening the unit and using a multimeter. This should be done only by a qualified technician. In most cases, the heater assembly or entire pump/heater unit must be replaced.
