Possible Causes
Clogged filter cartridge, Debris partially blocking inlet/outlet ports, Airlock in circulation pump, Worn or failing circulation pump impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa before removing filters or disconnecting the pump.
- 1. Clean or replace filters: Remove the filter housing and cartridge. Rinse thoroughly or replace with a new Lay‑Z‑Spa filter if dirty or deformed.
- 2. Check inlet/outlet ports: Use stopper caps to remove the pump from the liner. Inspect and clear any debris from the ports.
- 3. Remove airlocks: Reattach the pump, then slightly loosen the filter housing cap while the pump is off to release trapped air. Retighten and run filter mode.
- 4. Listen for pump noise: If the pump is unusually loud or rattling, the impeller may be worn or damaged.
- If circulation remains weak: The circulation pump may be failing and will need professional replacement of the pump/heater unit.
