How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and do not continue to operate a leaking spa. Water near electrical equipment is hazardous.
- 1. Locate the leak: Visually inspect the liner for wet spots. If not obvious, use a spray bottle with soapy water on suspect areas and look for bubbles.
- 2. Mark the area: Use a waterproof marker to circle the leak location on the dry liner.
- 3. Drain below leak level: Drain the spa until the leak area is above the waterline and completely dry.
- 4. Apply repair patch: Use a Lay‑Z‑Spa vinyl repair patch and adhesive. Clean the area with isopropyl alcohol, apply adhesive to both patch and liner, wait until tacky, then press firmly and smooth out air bubbles. Allow to cure as per adhesive instructions.
- 5. Refill and test: Refill the spa and monitor the patched area for leaks.
- If leaks are extensive or at structural seams: The liner may not be safely repairable and should be replaced.
