Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Ambient temperature sensor reading low, Faulty temperature sensor causing false freeze detection, Control pack programmed freeze cycle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa in freezing weather unless it is fully winterized and drained.
- Confirm cold conditions: If outdoor temperatures are near or below freezing, the ICE message is normal. The spa is protecting itself by circulating water.
- Keep cover on: Ensure the Lifesmart spa cover is in good condition and sealed to retain heat.
- Check water level: Maintain proper water level so pumps do not run dry during freeze cycles.
- Sensor check: If ICE appears in warm weather, compare displayed temperature to an external thermometer. Replace the temperature sensor if readings are inaccurate.
