Possible Causes
Shorted pump 2 motor windings, Water intrusion into pump motor, Loose or incorrect wiring, Overloaded circuit due to pump startup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the GFCI breaker and do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker.
- Visual inspection: Check Pump 2 for signs of water leakage into the motor or rust on the motor housing.
- Check wiring connections: Ensure Pump 2 wires are correctly landed on the control pack terminals and that insulation is intact.
- Isolate the pump: Disconnect Pump 2 from the control pack and restore power. If the breaker no longer trips, the pump is likely shorted and must be replaced.
- Replace Pump 2: Install a new OEM-compatible Lifesmart secondary jet pump, matching voltage and horsepower.
