Possible Causes
Failed high-limit or secondary thermistor, Loose sensor harness connection, Damaged sensor wiring, Moisture or corrosion at sensor or control board connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the GFCI breaker before working inside the equipment bay.
- Identify the second sensor: Lifesmart control packs often use a second sensor on the heater tube or inside the control pack as a safety limit.
- Inspect connections: Unplug and replug the Sn2-designated sensor connector on the control board. Look for corrosion, moisture, or burnt pins.
- Check cable condition: Follow the sensor cable from the heater tube to the board. Ensure it is not cut, pinched, or chewed by rodents.
- Dry any moisture: If you see condensation or water inside the control compartment, dry thoroughly and correct any leaks before restoring power.
- Replace faulty sensor: If Sn2 persists, replace the secondary/high-limit sensor with a compatible Lifesmart part. Ensure proper sealing at the heater tube.
