Possible Causes

Loose pump or heater unions, Cracked PVC fittings or manifolds, Failed jet body gasket, Freeze damage to plumbing lines

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker. Avoid running the spa with low water level.

  • Locate the leak: Remove the access panel and inspect around the pump, heater, and plumbing while the spa is filled. Use a flashlight to trace drips.
  • Tighten unions: Hand-tighten pump and heater unions. Do not overtighten with tools as this can crack fittings.
  • Repair fittings: For cracked PVC elbows or manifolds, drain the spa below the leak, cut out the damaged section, and glue in new PVC parts using spa-rated PVC cement.
  • Jet body leaks: If water is seeping from around a jet on the shell, the jet body or gasket may need to be replaced from the backside, which may require foam excavation.
  • Freeze damage: Extensive freeze damage often requires professional repair due to hidden leaks in foam-insulated plumbing.
