Possible Causes
Worn pump shaft seal, Loose pump unions, Cracked pump wet end housing, Deteriorated union O-rings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and do not run the pump while it is leaking.
- Inspect unions: Check the suction and discharge unions on the Lifesmart pump. Hand-tighten and inspect O-rings for cracks or flattening. Replace O-rings if needed.
- Check wet end: Look for cracks in the plastic pump housing. Replace the wet end if cracked.
- Replace shaft seal: If water drips from between the motor and wet end, the shaft seal is likely worn. Remove the wet end, disassemble, and install a new shaft seal kit compatible with your Lifesmart pump.
