Possible Causes

Water temperature near freezing, Ambient sensor reading low temperature, Control pack freeze logic engaged

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa in freezing weather; freeze protection prevents plumbing damage.

  • Verify actual temperature: Use a thermometer to confirm water temperature. If near freezing, allow the spa to run; this is normal behavior.
  • Keep cover on: Ensure the Master Spas cover is closed and latched to retain heat.
  • Check sensors: If ICE displays in warm conditions, the ambient or water sensor may be faulty. Test and replace the ambient or temperature sensor as needed.
  • Insulate equipment bay: In very cold climates, add insulation around the equipment compartment (without blocking ventilation) to reduce freeze risk.
