Possible Causes

Water temperature detected below cold threshold, Spa recently refilled with very cold water, Sensor reading low due to ambient cold conditions

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: COL is typically a status, not a failure, indicating the spa is protecting itself from freezing.

  • Verify water temperature: Use a separate thermometer to confirm actual water temperature.
  • Allow spa to warm: Keep the cover closed and allow the circulation pump to run. The system will automatically exit COL mode once water temperature rises above the threshold.
  • Check sensors if reading is incorrect: If the water is not actually cold but COL is displayed, inspect the temperature sensor connections at the control pack for corrosion or loose plugs.
  • Ensure spa is not in an unheated environment: If the spa is outdoors in freezing weather, maintain power at all times so freeze protection can operate.
