Possible Causes

Repeated dry heater condition not resolved, Severe airlock in heater, Failed circulation pump, Severely restricted plumbing or closed valves

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF power at the GFCI breaker.

  • Resolve underlying dr issues first: Ensure water level is correct, filters are clean, and all slice valves are fully open.
  • Bleed system thoroughly: Loosen heater and pump unions to purge all trapped air. You may need to repeat this several times.
  • Inspect circulation pump: Confirm that the circ pump impeller spins freely and that the motor is not seized. Replace the pump if it is not operating.
  • Reset the control pack: After correcting flow issues, leave power OFF for at least 5 minutes to allow the control to reset the dY lockout. Then restore power.
  • Monitor operation: Watch the display for any reoccurrence of dr or dY. If dY returns, the heater or control board may be damaged from previous dry firing and should be evaluated by a technician.
