Possible Causes
Loose pump or heater unions, Cracked PVC fittings, Failed pump shaft seal, Leaking LED light housing or waterfall fittings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power at the breaker before working around water and electrical components.
- Identify leak source: Remove side panels and inspect while the spa is filled. Use a flashlight to trace drips back to their highest point.
- Check unions first: Tighten pump and heater unions by hand, then slightly with a strap wrench if needed. Do not overtighten.
- Inspect pump seals: If water is dripping from under the pump motor where it meets the wet end, the shaft seal is likely failed. The wet end or entire pump should be replaced.
- Repair PVC leaks: For cracked fittings, drain below the leak, cut out the damaged section, and glue in new PVC fittings and pipe using spa-rated primer and cement.
- Check lights and features: Inspect the main LED light and water features (waterfalls, fountains) for gasket leaks. Replace gaskets or housings as needed.
