Possible Causes
Blocked air intake on MSPA motor unit, Water intrusion into air blower, Worn blower motor bearings, Faulty blower thermal protector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Do not continue trying to run the blower if it smells burnt or makes loud grinding noises.
- Check air intake: Inspect the air intake vents on the MSPA motor/control unit. Remove any dust, leaves, or obstructions. Ensure the unit has adequate clearance for ventilation.
- Dry out moisture: If the spa has been exposed to heavy rain or flooding, moisture may have entered the blower. Move the motor unit to a dry area, remove the cover (if user‑serviceable), and allow it to dry for 24 hours. Do not use heat guns directly on plastic parts.
- Test blower: After drying and cleaning vents, reconnect power and briefly test the bubble function. If E7 returns immediately or the blower hums but does not spin, the blower motor or its capacitor may be faulty.
- Replace blower assembly: On most MSPA models, the air blower is integrated into the motor unit. Replace the MSPA air blower motor assembly or the complete motor/control unit if the blower is not separately serviceable.
