Possible Causes
Supply voltage outside MSPA operating range, Loose mains plug or extension cord, Internal power supply fault on control PCB, Damaged surge protection components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always connect the spa directly to a properly grounded outlet. Do not use undersized extension cords.
- Check power source: Verify that the outlet voltage matches the MSPA rating (typically 220–240 V or 110–120 V depending on region). Use a multimeter if available.
- Avoid shared circuits: Do not run the spa on a circuit heavily loaded with other appliances (heaters, AC units). Voltage drops under load can trigger E9.
- Inspect plug and cord: Check the MSPA power cord and plug for heat damage, discoloration, or loose blades. Replace the power cord set if damaged.
- Try a different outlet: Plug the spa into a known good outlet on a different circuit. If E9 disappears, the original circuit may be unstable.
- Internal board check: If E9 persists on a good circuit, the internal SMPS (switch‑mode power supply) on the MSPA control PCB may be faulty. This typically requires replacement of the main control PCB by a qualified technician.
